Position summary:
Researcher position for investigating cellular and molecular mechanisms of presynaptic functions

Position:
Position: Staff Scientist or Postdoctoral Scholar
Unit: Cellular and Molecular Synaptic Function Unit (PI, Tomoyuki Takahashi)

Working Location:
Onna-son, Okinawa, Japan

Responsibilities:

  1. Patch-clamp recording from giant calyx-type presynaptic terminals in slices or culture to study functional changes induced by molecular manipulations.
  2. Real time imaging of synaptic vesicles in giant presynaptic terminals in culture to study their recycling dynamics.

Qualifications:

  1. Ph.D. degree
  2. Experience in patch clamp recording or imaging

Term:
Full-time, fixed term appointment for 2 year (possible extension on satisfactory performance). Contract initially with 3 month probationary period (inclusive).

Working hours:
9:00-17:30 (Discretionary)

Compensation:
In accordance with the OIST Employee Compensation Regulations
