A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Adriaan Bruijnzeel in the McKnight Brain Institute at the University of Florida. The position is funded by a US government grant. The candidate will use animal models to study the relationship between the nicotine content in tobacco and the reinforcing properties of cigarettes during adolescence in rats. The Bruijnzeel-lab is located in the McKnight Brain Institute (http://www.mbi.ufl.edu). The MBI houses state of the art research facilities and provides ample opportunities for collaborations.
This position requires a PhD in Neuroscience, Neuropharmacology, or a closely related field. The ideal candidate will have experience with animal models for drug abuse or psychiatric disorders. Preference will be given to candidates with a track record of publications, experience with rodent drug self-administration, and intracranial surgeries.
