The Department of Biological Sciences, Graduate School of Science, The University of Osaka invites applications for a professorship from candidates engaged in all areas of biological sciences and their related interdisciplinary fields. We seek individuals who can conduct outstanding and original research and demonstrate leadership both nationally and internationally. In addition to research, the successful candidates will be responsible for teaching in general education courses across the university, as well as in undergraduate and graduate programs.

Responsibilities:
The successful applicant will be expected to lead a research group and
- conduct research on the Biological Science,
- actively participate in education for graduate and undergraduate students and perform other university-related duties.
Qualifications:
[Essential] Applicants must have:
- A doctoral degree or equivalent professional expertise and/or achievement in the above field/s
- Sufficient research achievements and activity
- Business level or above Japanese language proficiency
Starting Date:
On or after April 1, 2026 (the actual starting date is negotiable)
Term of Employment:
No fixed term (Until the end of the fiscal year at 65 years of age)
Probationary Period:
6 months

Additional Information:
After appointment, two faculty members, either an Associate Professor, an Associate Professor (Lecturer) or an Assistant Professor (limited term), can be recruited to form a new research group.
