Over the past several years, the Society’s Executive Board has carefully considered the unification of domestic and overseas membership categories in order to eliminate distinctions among members based on their place of residence.
As we announced when reporting the results of the survey conducted in November 2025, only 10.2% of respondents answered “against” the unification of membership categories; therefore, at the Board of Directors Meeting held on December 2, 2025, a resolution was passed to unify domestic and overseas membership categories.
Since the Board of Directors’ resolution must be approved by the General Assembly in order to be incorporated into and amend the “Bylaws on Membership Categories and Fees,” the proposed amendment was submitted for consideration at the Annual General Assembly held on June 29, 2026, and was approved by a majority of the voting members.

Membership categories and annual fees for domestic and overseas members will be unified. This amendment will take effect on January 1, 2027. For more details, please download the PDF file below.
